My visit to Albania was more than a little interesting. While I was in the country they were experiencing problems generating electricity. The residents got 3-4 hours a day. Most businesses had generators that ran most of the day. I stayed at the only hostel in Tirana and our heat was by wood stove. I notice, while I was walking around town that 55 gallon drums were placed on many of the street corners and people would take their trash to them where the trash was burned and people would stand around them to get warm. Crafty Albanians. I was also followed around town by a guy who said he needed money for a heart transplant. These were just the main points in a very condensed version. I'll never forget Albania. 11/2005
